G-Flip is on stage rehearsing their set, with the Sydney Harbour setting the scene in the background.
There’s a row of fans at the barricade who’ve luckily stumbled across a free G-Flip show on their Wednesday afternoon stroll.
The evening is set to be a collaboration of Aussie icons as Pepsi launch their rebrand, G-Flip –who uses they/them pronouns – on the stage while Aussie models walk in designs by up and coming artist Jackson Cowden.

G-Flip currently lives in the US with their wife, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, but they say they’re stoked to be back on Aussie shores for an event like this.
“I think it’s super iconic,” G-Flip tells 9honey Celebrity. “And it’s not just like the collaborations and all of us together, we’re literally in the most iconic spot in Australia right now.”

They’re set to kick off their US and UK tour in May, saying they’re hoping to get in the best shape of their life for the string of performances, taking inspiration from the likes of Led Zeppelin drummer, John Bonham.
And while they say they’re stoked to take to the stage overseas, nothing beats being back home with their Aussie fans.
“I owe my life to my Aussie fans,” they said. “Like honestly, I can support my family now and I met my wife moving over to the States to do music. I like have such a fun life and so so many amazing memories all because of my Aussie fan base supporting the absolute f— out of me.”
They thank their fans for voting in the 2023 Hottest 100, where they received second place for their song The Worst Person Alive, as well as breaking the record for the most appearances in a single countdown with a total of seven songs making the cut.
“My whole life is like dictated by these amazing fans and followers that I have,” G-Flip says. “[They] really root for me and want me to be happy and want all my dreams to come true. Like they’re my people.
“It makes me emotional and most shows I actually cry about it because I’m like, I wouldn’t have a life. I’d be stuck in a job that I hate and I wouldn’t be able to support my family and I wouldn’t be able to like, buy my best mate an iPhone for their birthday if I wanted to or like, you know, take my nana in the first limousine she ever got in, you know, s— like that,” they added.
“Like so many joys in my life have come because of the fans. So I owe my life. I adore, absolutely love and adore every single one of them.”
G-Flip is here tonight to perform at the rebrand of Pepsi.
The iconic company is celebrating their new identity by not only refreshing their own look, but also reinventing conventional fashion classics too.
Cowden, the designer behind the collection, has created 10 bespoke pieces using elements from Pepsi’s new visual identity.

The innovative collection pushes the boundaries of traditional fashion design, with the full 10 pieces coming to life in just 40 days.
The edgy, futuristic looks should’ve taken Cowden around nine months to produce, but he instead opted for an AI first approach, using deep blue colourways and pulsating visuals to put a modern twist on traditional pieces such as the little black dress or plain white tee.
G-Flip described Cowden as an “amazing up and coming designer,” adding that the event was a ”way cooler way to launch a rebrand” incorporating fashion as well as a pop/rock show.

And while they weren’t nervous about taking to the stage to perform, G-Flip shared that there was one part of rehearsals that threw them off.
“I’m nervous about walking in front of models because I don’t know how to do that,” they shared. “You know, you don’t think about walking but in the rehearsal, I was like thinking about walking cos I’m like, I’m walking with all these models and I don’t even know how they do it.
“It’s like there’s this little, it’s like a little bit bouncy, kind of like a pulse. And it’s like, I’m gonna come in and just, walk like I’ve got a stick up my a–,” they laughed.
