Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are still fine-tuning the details of their divorce six years after announcing their separation.
It was recently uncovered in court documents obtained by NBC News that Dewan is now asking for a share of Tatum’s earnings from the Magic Mike franchise.
The three movie series was developed while the duo were together, with the first film released in 2012, the second in 2015, and third in 2023.

The documents argue that Tatum got his big break from the Magic Mike films which, “along with the underlying intellectual property, was developed and co-financed by Channing during marriage with community effort and marital funds.”
The film’s concept is said to be based off of Tatum’s experience as a male stripper in his teens and was workshopped alongside Dewan.

In response, a filing made by Tatum’s lawyers and obtained by NBC News states that Dewan has “been involved in all aspects of community investments, opportunities and transactions.”
They claim that Dewan seeking a portion of Tatum’s overall earnings from the franchise is a ”last ditch effort” to delay the Step Up alums’ divorce.
However, her legal team say that Tatum “failed to disclose” a number of business opportunities that arose from the franchise following their split, as well as alleging that he and his financial team “created a complex web of LLCs, holding companies and partnerships” to “dilute” the earnings and offspring profit generated from the films.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the original film earned around $260.6 million globally.
Tatum and Dewan first met and fell in love on the set of hit 2006 movie Step Up, before marrying in 2009.
The couple now share 10-year-old daughter Everly, with Dewan now engaged to Steve Kazee with whom she shares four-year-old son Callum, as well as a second child on the way.
