The Porsche 912E, from the mid-1970s, boasts a fusion of a 911 body and a four-cylinder engine.
Manufacturers created the sports car in a bid to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the mid-engined 914 in 1974.
While its 912 predecessor had a modified 1.6-litre boxer four from the iconic Porsche 356, the popular model went on a different route.
It sports a type four Volkswagen flat-four engine that has been enlarged to 2.0 litres and equipped with Bosch fuel injection.
The upgraded engine meant drivers could reach up to 86 horsepower.
The fast car is so rare there are one of just 2,099 made.
Mike stumbled upon the motoring treasure while filming in North Carolina, US.
He was drawn in by its unique exterior and a staggering price tag of $10,000 (£6,000).
He transported the valuable Porsche across the Atlantic to the UK to carry out a complex restoration.
Mechanics rolled their sleeves and gave the 912E a fresh coat of its original Enamel Blue paint and a set of sleek black 16-inch Fuchs rims.
In collaboration with Iconic Auctioneers, the TV star aims to fetch $50,000 – $63,000 (£40,000 – £50,000) for the rare find.
The Porsche 912E is part of Mike’s collection boasting various models from across some of the brand’s most popular decades.
Mike took to Twitter to unveil the jaw-dropping collection.
The motor whizz announced the new Wheeler Dealers World Tour which will land on screens on April 29 at 9pm.
In order to mark the occasion, the presenter bid farewell to two of his beloved cars – including the Porsche 912E.
The spin-off programme will launch on Discovery+ following Warner Bros announcement that MotorTrend+ was being discontinued.
Fans will now be able to access the content on Discovery+ in the UK and HBO Max in the US instead.
It comes as Mike revealed how he keeps his own stunning collection hidden away in a “secret cave”.
The TV star invited Jonny Smith from The Late Break show for a private tour around the “car cathedral”, which houses its own workshop.
Some of the cars include a Porsche Passion, a MkI Ford Transit van, a 1959 MG MGA, and a Land Rover 110 Defender.
