Dominic Solanke gave the hosts the perfect start as he fired home the opener in the 16th minute.

Bruno Fernandes was able to level the game for Man United with a powerful volley from close range.

Justin Kluivert restored the lead with a tidy finish. Fernandes then cancelled the goal out from the spot in the second half as the game ended all level.

SunSport’s Henry Tomlinson has rated the United players’ performance.

Andre Onana – 7

The goalkeeper made some important stops but could do very little about either of the first two goals.

Diogo Dalot – 4

Dalot was caught out of position for the first and second goals.

Not the best of days for the defender.

Willy Kambwala – 5

The defender was at fault for the first goal as he was shrugged off the ball by Solanke.

Harry Maguire – 6

Maguire looked largely solid during the match as Bournemouth struggled to have much success on his side of the pitch.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6

The full-back, like Maguire, had less to do as the hosts targeted the other side but was solid when called upon.

Casemiro – 5

The Brazilian struggled to contain the Bournemouth midfield in the first half as he often left too much space for the attackers to take exploit.

Kobbie Mainoo 77′ – 5

Like Casemiro, Mainoo struggled against the Cherries. The youngster was often found out for his lack of physical presence.

Did not get much better for him in the second half and was replaced by Mason Mount.

Alejandro Garnacho 45′ – 5

Lost the ball for Bournemouth’s opener but was able to redeem himself with a vital involvement in the equaliser.

However, that was it for the winger, as he was hooked at half-time.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

The captain was first to the ball to volley home the equaliser in the first half. Fernandes could have had two as he struck the crossbar with a brilliant effort.

Showed his composure from the spot as he levelled the game in the second half.

Marcus Rashford – 5

The forward had a quiet game as he struggled to make a meaningful impact.

Rasmus Hojlund – 5

There was a lot of energy from Holjund, but the striker was largely starved of service.

Subs

Amad Diallo 45′ – 5

The winger replaced Garnacho at half-time, but struggled to make much of an impact on the game.

Had a half chance to nick a winner but sent his effort high and wide.

Mason Mount 77′ – 5

Not enough time to really affect the game.
