A RARE car made famous by an iconic 80s film could be yours for just £55,000.
The 1981 DeLorean DMC-12, which is registered as a Historic Vehicle with the DVLA, is a fan favourite of car enthusiasts around the world.

The motor gained worldwide fame after the same model was featured in the Back to the Future film.
It saw the DeLorean become a cultural touchstone for a generation of film fans and petrol heads around the world.
Advertised on on Car&Classic, this particular DeLorean has a relatively low mileage, only covering 32,000 miles from new in the hands of two registered keepers.
The vendor bought it from the renowned Beverley Hills Car Club in July 2022 before importing it to the UK.
On arrival it was comprehensively recommissioned by Chris Nicholson at P J Grady, the UK DeLorean specialists.
Described as a “collector-quality car” the iconic motor will be sold with a year’s MOT.
Factory built in 1981, the DeLorean only had one owner up until June 2022 and was “used very sparingly”.
It is said to be “running perfectly” and is in “excellent condition”, according to the listing.
Now, it is available on auction with offers starting from £55,000.
The iconic 1980s design complete with gull-wing doors will stir many memories for Back to the Future fans.
And the stainless steel body is forever embedded in the memories of so many, with its unmarked exterior and interior reflecting its very low mileage.
On the outside the panels and wheels have been refurbished while inside the grey leather interior is close to immaculate.
The latter is quite an achievement on a car known for its fragile trim and indicates the low mileage as well as renovation work in 2020 and 2022.
It is pleasingly standard throughout the cabin, with well-kept switchgear and an original radio.
The last-minute involvement of Lotus’ Colin Chapman imbued the DMC-12 with a setup similar to the Lotus Esprit.
This gave it good handling, a fact often overlooked by the fuss made about the car’s looks and compelling backstory.
It boasts a 2.8litre PRV engine which was relatively low power compared to European sports cars but more than a match for contemporary American coupes.

In the films Lloyd, who played the eccentric Emmett “Doc” Brown, fitted the car with a Flux Capacitor which allowed it to go back in time.
Marty McFly, played by Michael J Fox, then travels back from 1985 to 1955 and stops his parents from falling in love.
This then threatens his own existence.
Universal Studios special effects department built three main DeLorean time machines for the movie Back to the Future.
