Little Mix singer reveals she has ‘never’ lived with footballer fiancé, despite sharing a son

Perrie Edwards and her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have “never” lived together in their eight-year relationship, the former Little Mix singer reveals.

Speaking on ITV‘s upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, Edwards opened up about the nature of her relationship with the English football player, The Standard reports.

“We’ve never lived together – the eight years we’ve been in a relationship, we’ve never actually lived together,” Edwards revealed.

The couple got engaged in June 2022 and share a two-year-old son.

However, each pursuing demanding careers has meant the pair have spent their entire relationship living apart.

Edwards is currently pursuing her singing career in the UK, while Oxlade-Chamberlain is based in Turkey playing as a midfielder for Süper Lig club Beşiktaş on a three-year contract.

“I’m trying to launch a solo career whilst having a two-year-old so it is a lot to juggle,” she explained.

Oxlade-Chamberlain left Premier League’s Liverpool to make the move to Turkey last year. Speaking about the long-distance relationship, Edwards revealed that she finds it difficult.

“I can’t lie, it is hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester, it was so easy to do the back and forth but Turkey is a little bit further and he doesn’t get a lot of time off,” she explained.

Despite the challenges, Edwards says that the effort is worth it for the love the young family share.

“We make it work for the ones we love, don’t we?” she asked.

The surprising revelation comes as Edwards teases her upcoming single Forget About Us.

Speaking with NME Magazine, Edwards spoke about her decision to release the single saying “it just felt instinctively right”.

For the project, Edwards worked with singer Ed Sheeran who wrote and produced the song. According to Edwards, Sheeran was “so supportive” of her creative vision.

“He was so supportive he was like ‘I want you to take full ownership in it whatever you’re not comfortable with change it and we’ll work on it from then’,” she said.

The pair workshopped the song over zoom until she was happy with it.

“We kind of got it to where it is now, so I’m really happy now.”
