‘My brain is working backward’: Rihanna’s struggle while creating new album

A new Rihanna album is on its way, but we cold be waiting a while.

Speaking to Interview Magazine, the Love on the Brain singer shares she’s struggling to write new songs.

“I have a lot of visual ideas,” she told the publication.

“It’s weird. My brain is working backward right now. I usually have the music first, and the music leads me into all of these visual opportunities, and now I’m having all of these visuals.”

She shared that although she’s got the idea for a new album, she “doesn’t have the songs for them yet.”

After taking a break from making music for the past few years to focus on raising her two sons and building her cosmetic and fashion empires, Rihanna is still optimistic about her long awaited return.

“Maybe that’s the key, this time, maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make,” she said.

But it turns out her break from music was never planned.

The Diamonds singer said she “wouldn’t have had any idea” this is where her life would be today if you had of asked her 15 years ago.

”The only thing that I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood,” she added.

Rihanna shares two two sons with rapper A$AP Rocky – RZA, who was born in 2022, and Riot, who was born in 2023.

Her last album was released six years ago, with her eight studio album Anti hitting shelves on January 28, 2016.

It had several major hits such as Needed Me and Work and scored Rihanna six Grammy nominations.
