THE UK seaside towns with the cheapest parking have been revealed, including an “underrated” spot that costs just £1.98 for the day.
A study from experts at Motorscan also outed some popular staycation destinations as far pricier options.

The firm ranked towns based on the average price of eight hours of parking within a 30-minute walk of the town centre.
Hornsea, Yorkshire, claimed top spot in the price wars, with a day’s-worth of parking clocking in under £2.
The quaint little town avoids much of the tourist rush, even during peak season.
But it’s remarkably easy to get to, sitting within a two-hour driver from both Leeds and Sheffield and just under three hours from Manchester.
It was followed by Fife, Scotland, at £2.27, while Portrush, Northern Ireland, rounded out the top three at £3.47.
Yorkshire appeared to be a real bargain area for seaside parking, with Morecambe (£4.33), Bridlington (£4.60) and Filey (£6.00) all making the top 10 as well.
That’s not to say the South missed out either, as Dover came in seventh at £5.55 just behind Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, at £5.84.
Wales also got some representation, with Tenby and Colwyn Bay tying up eighth and ninth place respectively.
However, some of the most well-known holiday hotspots turned out to be much more expensive.
Brighton was named the dearest, with parking prices reaching a whopping £24.21 – more than £20 a day more than Hornsea.
It was followed by Cornish favourites Newquay and Falmouth which, while substantially cheaper, each still broke £12.
And Southend, Bournemouth, St Ives and Ilfracombe all topped £10 for the same stay.

“Brighton’s staggering average parking fee of £24.21 tops the charts, highlighting the financial strain families may face when planning beach outings
“On the contrary, Hornsea emerges as a beacon of affordability, offering seaside parking at just £1.98 on average.
“These findings underscore the importance of informed decision-making and strategic planning to maximise enjoyment while minimising expenses during holiday travels. “
