TEMPLEGATE takes on a huge Saturday of action confident of bagging some juicy profit – but unfortunately Musselburgh’s racing has been abandoned.
The Scottish track’s Premier raceday has been scrapped due to heavy rain leaving the track ‘saturated’… and staff ‘devastated’.

SWEET FANTASY (3.35 Musselburgh, nap) – ABANDONED
He has been in fine form over hurdles with wins at Plumpton and Catterick that will see him spot-on for fitness. His form on the level is good enough for this level with this trip on soft ground ideal. He is 5lb higher than his latest Flat win at Epsom but his rider’s claim takes care of most of that.
INDIVIDUALISM (1.50 Musselburgh, nb) – ABANDONED
He can keep up the excellent record of the Johnston yard in this race. They have won it four times in the past five years and this son of Too Darn Hot ended last season with a fifth in good company at Newmarket in November. This mile should be ideal and he’ll be fit to do himself justice.
BRENTFORD HOPE (2.05 Haydock, treble)
He was impressive when scoring at Newcastle 14 days ago. Harry Derham’s improver went from the front there and didn’t have a moment’s worry. He enjoyed the cut in the ground and the two-mile trip he faces again here. The handicapper has been fair with a 5lb rise and he can score again.

Dubai tips
SENOR BUSCADOR is the main man in the Dubai World Cup (4.35).
He showed his class when getting the better of Ushba Tesoro in the Saudi Cup last month. That built on his excellent second in the Pegasus at Gulfstream again over this distance.
Given he’s a much bigger price than the defending champion this time, he looks a good call to make the frame at least for American trainer Todd Fincher.
Ushba Tesoro is the clear threat given how easily he won this race 12 months ago. His form has been generally solid since and he’ll enjoy coming from off what is certain to be a breakneck pace.
Frankie has every chance on board Newgate for Bob Baffert who has won this race four times. He’s been in excellent form at Santa Anita and won a Grade 1 over this distance last time.
Charlie Appleby has a big chance with MEASURED TIME (3.10).
He couldn’t have been more impressive when winning the Jebel Hatta over course and distance. He zipped along and William Buick only had to shake the reins. That was the fifth time this son of Frankel had been on a
racecourse so there should be more to come.
Lord North is respected trying to win this race for the third year running. Frankie Dettori is reunited with the Gosdens for the ride and he warmed up with a solid second in the Winter Derby. He looks a good each-way price.
AUGUSTE RODIN (4.10) showed his globe-trotting credentials when winning the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Santa Anita in November.
That was one of the rides of the year by Ryan Moore and he was on board when he won Derbies at Epsom and The Curragh along with the Irish Champion Stakes.
His only blip came on soft which doesn’t suit at Ascot. It’s great to see him in training as a four-year-old.
Emily Upjohn has few miles on the clock for a five-year-old and showed her best form fresh last season when taking the Coronation Cup at Epsom before going close in the Coral-Eclipse. This trip is her best and she gets the mares’ allowance.
TOWER OF LONDON (12.40) can edge out Trawlerman in the Gold Cup.
He stayed strongly when scoring in Saudi last time and will be fitter for the outing. Trawlerman was poor in this race 12 months ago but was unbeaten in the UK last season and likes this trip.
St Leger winner Eldar Eldarov is another with every chance after a break.
Frankie Dettori can score in the Godolphin blue on STAR OF MYSTERY (1.15).
She has been in fine form here this spring and the extra furlong will suit.
