THE UNDERTAKER revealed the dream match against Sting never happened because ex-WWE Chairman Vince McMahon “didn’t want it”.
Pro wrestling fans had been “clamouring” to see Undertaker and The Icon lock horns ever since 1996 when the latter adopted his dark gimmick similar to the former.

However, the two legends’ paths didn’t cross until 2014 following Sting’s multi-year stints in WCW and TNA.
But by the time the six-time world champion finally joined the wrestling giants he was 55 years old and Undertaker was 49.
And The Deadman claims McMahon wasn’t keen on it despite the WWE Universe pushing hard for it to happen.
Sting only wrestled twice for the company and lost both his matches to Triple H as well as Seth Rollins.
But Taker doesn’t appear to have any significant regrets as he claims a match between them at that stage of their careers wouldn’t live up to expectations.
Undertaker said in the latest episode of his Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway: “Everywhere I go, on any given day, I get the question. I always call it the question.
“When I do the 1 deadMAN show I just wait, ‘When’s it coming?’ Cause I know it’s gonna come.
“And it’s always like, ‘Why didn’t you and Sting ever have a match?’ Man, that would have been huge box office..
“It just didn’t work out. [Sting had a] Very short run in WWE and Vince didn’t want it.
“For whatever reason, I don’t know what it was, he just didn’t feel it. People have been clamouring for this match for quite a few years…
“Pretty much a year or two into his character change people were already sending me artwork with the billboard.
“It just never worked out and when he got there the match would have been good but I don’t think it would have lived up to the expectations that people have for it.”
