A MECHANIC has transformed a three-decade-old car after it spent 10 years in a motor graveyard.
The motor – a 6-Speed V12 BMW E31 850i Revival – had spent a decade rotting away in a backgarden.

The car became available after a man’s son got tired of watching it rot
The restoration was undertaken by hobby-mechanic Sreten, who regularly posts restoration projects on his channel, M539 Restorations.
The car, which spent ten years in a garden in the South of France, was deemed to be perfect for a restoration project.
Sreten said: “It has spent all of its life inside of France, and since 1998 it has only had one owner.
“The owner was an elderly gentleman…but in around 2011 he stopped using and parked it in his garden, where it has sat ever since.”
The motor was rotting away in the pensioners garden until his fed-up son had enough of seeing it turn into a glorified bird bog.
He said: “The seller, Marco, wanted to sell it to a good home and sold it to me after recognising my videos.”
Sreten was slightly apprehensive before starting out the solo project. He said: “It’s going to take forever to put this car back together by myself because I have to clean and refurbish everything.”
During the project the mechanic removed the rear end, fuel take and lines. He then dismantled the engine bay and rebuilt the
hydraulic brake booster.
The YouTuber hopes his hard work pays off with other BMW v 12s on the market for around £60,000.
Although the models can be bought for cheap the repair costs are “astronomical”.
