She stars and also produces the scary film which follows an American nun who encounters horrors in the Italian countryside.
The movie has a release date of March 22, one day before McGregor’s debut role in the reboot of Road House hits the screens.
Sweeney posted on Instagram: “IMMACULATE march 22nd.”
But McGregor, one of sport’s all-time great self-promoters, replied: “@roadhousemovie March 21st.”
It left fans both bemused and in awe as one responded: “The promo on the promo is genius.”
Another said: “Marketing genius.”
McGregor stars alongside Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal in their reboot of the 1989 Patrick Swayze classic Road House.
And claimed to have pipped The Rock to become the highest-paid debut actor.

In a now-deleted post on X, he said: “What did you think of my acting debut movie trailer? Hell of a ride!
“I am now officially the highest-paid first-time actor of all time, on record, pipping Dwayne Johnson for the top spot. Incredible!”
Johnson – whose stage name The Rock stems from his WWE days – was paid $5.5million (£4.3m) for his role in 2001’s The Mummy Returns.
And he even received a Guinness World Record for the feat a spin-off movie the following year, The Scorpion King.
But McGregor – who put in exhausting 18 HOUR DAYS on set – is not ready to even think about a follow-up role.
He said: “It was good, it was tough. Would I do it again? I don’t know, probably not. I’m in no talks about it, I don’t even want to talk about it.”
