INCREDIBLE plans for a futuristic car that can drive passengers overnight while they sleep have been revealed.
The Swift Pod has been designed for passengers to relax and rest while the car automatically drives them to far-away destinations.

Fantastic pictures show the futuristic travel pod in action as a side profile of the car reveals its triangular shape.
The car’s incredible design boasts a luxurious, low-sitting cabin that is attached to three giant wheels – with its frame sloping down and forming a triangle.
Stulz, the designer of the car, said in a statement: “We chose to stick with the iconic triangular shape to emphasise the narrative in a multimodal future of transportation.”
Swift Pod can accommodate up to two passengers at a time – who can either sit upright or lay down on each of the two single beds situated in the cabin’s corners.
They can even use the provided foldable desks as stations to work on, as well as a dining table to eat.
Any luggage could be stored in spaces underneath the vehicle’s beds and seats.
Stulz says he and his team worked tirelessly to create a system of autonomous transport that can replace overnight train or flight journeys.
Even the name of the car was reportedly inspired by a bird that can fly while sleeping.
“We were looking for sustainable ways to travel, and since night trains were struggling to run cost-efficiently, we conceived an idea to fill that gap in the field of individual and autonomous transport,” the designer said.
The concept of the futuristic travel pod also includes a comprehensive media system for entertainment, as well as storage spaces to keep food and beverages.
Stulz says his team kept the design of the car minimalistic as it would reduce noise and distraction from outside the cabin.
“Our design team has always been fascinated by night trains and waking up at one’s destination after a decent sleep,” he said.
According to the official website, Swift Pod could be booked like a taxi using an app, reserved for a specific time and date in advance.
The vehicle would autonomously calculate the optimal route to its passenger’s chosen destination.
The autonomous system of Swift Pod will also provide an option for passengers to input stopovers and break schedules en route.
The high-tech system can even suggest popular break and stopover areas, such as local eateries and tourism hubs.
It comes after a groundbreaking plane with a “blended-wing” body, capable of carrying 250 people, has been being cleared to fly.
The Pathfinder will soon be seen soaring through California skies after aviation company JetZero received FAA approval to start tests.
From above, the plane looks a bit like a stingray, with a flat belly that smoothly blends out into a pair of wide wings.
There are many benefits to the plane’s bizarre shape which make it attractive to commercial aircraft giants Boeing and Airbus.
It is a hybrid plane – a cross between a flying wing and a traditional “tube and wing” – so can cruise at higher altitudes on less fuel.
The plane’s blended wing allows the entire aircraft to generate lift, minimising drag, which “helps to increase fuel economy and creates larger payload (cargo or passenger) areas in the centre body portion of the aircraft”, according to Nasa.
Another incredible “ring-wing” plane of the future also only has one wing, allowing for tiny runways, smooth landings, and less fuel use.
The Lockheed Ring Wing spans 170 feet and has a unique, circular wing that stands 75 feet tall and arches back 27 degrees to attach itself to the tail of the aircraft.
A third revolutionary concept, for a “Flying V” plane, is set to make travelling more affordable for holidaymakers.
