And Ferguson was hoping at least one of his horses could come up trumps with a win on Day Three.
Four of his horses were in action today as the 82-year-old aims to win a cool prize worth £342,192.
Meanwhile, Redknapp, 77, had one horse running today.
The first of Ferguson’s horses’ today, Monmiral, earned his first ever Cheltenham win by winning the 2.10pm Pertamps Handicap Hurdle at 25-1 to bank £56,270.
On the win Ferguson told ITV Racing: “Well that was fantastic, what a jockey.”
Asked whether jockey Harry Cobden was a future champion in the making, to which he replied: “Definitely.”
Ferguson was also questioned on whether it compared to him winning the Champions League, to which he said: “Oh no, that’s different! That’s different!”
Two of his horses then ran in the 2.50pm Ryanair Chase.

And Protektorat came home to collect Ferguson’s second win of the day while his other horse Hitman came eighth.
The winner for the Ryanair can bag a whopping £218,398, though Ferguson’s total winnings could go even higher if both horses come in the places.
Il Ridoto, Fergie’s final horse of the day, ran in the 4.10pm Festival Plate Handicap Chase.
It also saw Redknapp’s horse Shakem Up’Arry in action, who claimed victory for the £67,524 prize.
On his horses prospects, he told Thoroughbred Daily News: “I think Hitman will do well.
“I just feel that he seems to die in the last couple of fences over three miles, but he’s back running over two miles and four furlongs.
“He might just surprise people.”
Ferguson won just under a million quid when his horse Spirit Dancer won in Saudi Arabia last month.
He also has two horses running on Friday.
L’Eau Du Sud runs in the 2.10pm County Handicap Hurdle while Sonigino runs in the 5.30pm Martin Pipe Handicap.
