Kirsten Dunst narrowly avoided disaster as she hit the red carpet at the 96th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The actress, 41, walked the Oscars red carpet with her actor husband Jesse Plemons when she walked into a giant Oscars statue and almost tripped over while posing for photographers.
The Marie Antoinette star quickly balanced herself and laughed off the incident with her husband.

For her red carpet appearance, Dunst looked incredible in a simple white spaghetti strap dress.
She teamed the look with elegant drop earrings, diamond rings and with her blonde locks out and around her face in curls.
Dunst channeled old Hollywood glamour with a deep red lip.
There were some memorable moments at the star-studded Oscars this year.
Dressed in a pink bedazzled suit and sunglasses, Ryan Gosling stole the show with his big-budget performance of I’m Just Ken, from the Barbie movie.
He belted the lyrics while surrounded by male backup dancers in a scene that looked like something out of a Marilyn Monroe film, before being joined by none other than Slash from Guns ‘N Roses.

Gosling was happy to share the spotlight, leading a crowd singalong with stars like Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Barbie director Greta Gerwig.
John Cena made a surprise appearance on the Oscars stage wearing a very interesting outfit. Or lack thereof.

Host Jimmy Kimmel noted that this year’s event is the 50th anniversary of a streaker who famously ran across the stage.
“I said, can you imagine if a naked man ran across the stage today,” Kimmel said.
John Cena’s head then appeared, popping up around the corner from backstage, and from what the audience could see it seemed he wasn’t wearing any clothes.
