I flew to Disneyland Paris for the day and was in my own bed by midnight – but was it worth the hassle?

A WOMAN has revealed how she spent just £20 travelling to Tenerife for the day – and even had time for an afternoon at the beach.

Last year, Danielle Mclean, 35, from Edinburgh, took herself to Disneyland Paris for just one day.

While a day trip to Europe may seem hugely ambitious, for Danielle it’s almost like second nature.

Over the last few years, Danielle has been on her fair share of European day trips, so it’s safe to say she has learned a thing or two about exploring Brit-favourite holiday hotspots in hardly any time at all.

Last December, Danielle travelled to Disneyland Paris for just one day after booking return flights from Edinburgh to Charles de Gaulle Airport for £65.

Not only did Danielle manage to book cheap flights, but she also kept other costs down too, including nabbing a cheeky lift to the airport.

Danielle told Sun Online Travel: “I got to Charles de Gaulle Airport at 9.20am, and Disneyland Paris is only a ten-minute train ride from there.

“But by the time I got through to the train station at 10am, there wasn’t another train until 11.20.”

Despite the lengthy wait, Danielle still managed to make it to the French theme park at 11.30am where she met her parents.

Danielle added: “It’s doable to do in a day. I downloaded the Disneyland App, and I planned out the rides I wanted to go on.”

During her time in the park, Danielle managed to board rides like It’s a Small World, the Teacups, Dumbo, Autopia, Thunder Mountain and the Tower of Terror.

Each ride took approximately 25 minutes, including the time it took to queue to get on the ride.

After spending a day at the theme park, Danielle left the park at 6pm.

Despite her flight being at 10pm, Danielle made it through airport security in next-to-no-time.

She landed back at Edinburgh Airport at 10.30pm and said she was “in bed by midnight”.

Because Danielle had to leave the park fairly early, she missed out on one key part of a Disneyland Paris trip – the fireworks.

She added: “By leaving the theme park early, you’re missing out on the fireworks – but I’d still recommend a day trip.”

On her day trip to Disneyland Paris, Danielle spent less than £300 in total, with her biggest outlay being a two-park ticket, which cost £75.

Other costs included £35 for a return train ticket from the Charles de Gaulle Airport as well as souvenir expenses like a keyring.

She shared details of her cheeky trip on her YouTube Channel where she revealed she’d do another day-trip to Disneyland Paris in the future.

While some Brit holidaymakers may find a day trip daunting, this wasn’t the case for Danielle who explained that she “finds flights” easy.

Danielle previously told Sun Online Travel: ” I find flights easy, but buses and trains stress me out.”

On her holidays to New York and LA, Danielle made sure to walk everywhere and said she was frequently stopped for directions by other holidaymakers.

The retail employee does find other aspects of trips to Europe somewhat taxing, she added: “I wouldn’t say I find day trips tiring – it’s more the language barrier that stresses me out.”

Earlier this year, Danielle also went on a day-trip to Tenerife where she enjoyed warm temperatures and sea views.

Last year, a British woman revealed how she spent just £23 flying to Lanzarote for the day – and even fit in some cocktails on the beach.

The mum travelled to Lanzarote thanks to the cheap Ryanair flights, spending nine hours exploring the Spanish island.

She also went on another short trip, flying to Ibiza for the day with six other mums for just £34.
