DRIVERS have been challenged to spot the motoring twist to the picturesque beach scene in this mind-bending optical illusion.
The picture, posted on X, sparked intense debate – but can you work out what it really shows?

The user who originally posted the snap, named Muhamad, said that “you’re an artist” if you see a nighttime beach scene when you look at it.
The image appears to show the waves lapping gently onto the shore on a rocky beach, blanketed by a midnight black sky.
However, the truth is much more mundane.
Muhamad revealed: “If you can see a beach, ocean sky, rocks and stars then you are an artist.
“But it’s not a painting.
“It’s a car door, the seal panel under it is damaged…which gives the illusion of water on the edge of a beach.”
Upon closer inspection, it becomes obvious that the tide effect is created by a bit of the door being chipped away at the bottom.
The light-coloured tarmac underneath could easily be mistaken for sand, while the star-speckled sky is actually a black door riddled with tiny chips and scratches.
Social media viewers were left in disbelief.
One wrote: “I’ve looked at this picture every which way possible, the only thing I see is someone might be looking through a window at a beach.”
Another added: “I can’t see the reality. It’s like those hologram pictures from the ’90s.”
However, some claimed to have spotted the truth in “minutes”.
It comes after puzzle fans were tested by a series of car-based brainteasers.
For example, a mind-boggling animation of a vehicle travelling on a busy road – but can you tell which way it’s going?
And only those with 20/20 vision could spot the toy car hidden away in a brightly-coloured bathroom scene.
Meanwhile, we gave fans a look at the “world’s best road”, loved by Jeremy Clarkson but only open for half the year.
