The ultra-pure thirst-quencher is billed as the “taste of snow in the air” from the Norwegian Arctic outpost of Svalbard.

The description for the 750ml bottle boasts: “Svalbard iceberg water is an experience for the palate, similar to fine wine.”

It suggests enhancing the taste by downing it with “delicate dishes”, choccies or, interestingly, “drinks”.

It goes on: “With no nitrates or pollutants, the extremely low minerality ensures a light mouthfeel with a light bite and a slight sweetness.”

The mineral water is said to be the most northerly on Earth, while icebergs can prove challenging sources.

Pat Eckert, owner of UK-based Fine Liquids which is flogging it for £7,332, said: “Iceberg water is really special.

“When the brand stopped producing, the stock that was left sold out in a few days.

“The bottle we have is, therefore, a rare collectable.”
