John Mulaney‘s ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler is releasing a new memoir detailing the source of her “rage”.
Tendler, 38, will in August be releasing her book Men Have Called Her Crazy, which she says is about “mental health; about being a woman; about family. And finally, about the endless source of my heartbreak and rage – men.
“I have been writing this book for two years. More accurately though I have been writing it for close to four decades. I have never been more proud of any work,” she said in the caption of an Instagram photo of her posing with the book.

Three years ago, Tendler faced major heartbreak when her six-year-long marriage to comedian John Mulaney came to an end.
The comedian reportedly asked Tendler for a divorce in March 2021 following a 60-day stay in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in October 2020.
When news of the the divorce came about in May, Tendler responded with her own statement, saying, “I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”

Although Tendler, who is an artist and interior designer, kept to herself, the public came to know of her through her ex-husband’s stand up routines, where he would draw from their married life for his material, particularly their love for each other and their choice to remain childless.
Days after the news of the split came reports Mulaney was dating actress Olivia Munn. In November that year, they welcomed a baby together named Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney.
Tendler has in the meantime hinted at the impact the very publicised split has had on her, through her art and a number of Instagram posts.

During the 2022 New Year, she posted a lengthy farewell to 2021, calling it a year full of “depression and anxiety,” “unfathomable loss,” coping mechanisms and dealing with her “new” normal.
“Over the past two years it seems that change has been synonymous with loss and collectively this loss has been unfathomable,” the artist wrote on Instagram.
“It is tempting to construct a poetic list of all we’ve watched slip through our hands, but what’s the point? We already know it and we grieve it daily.

“I find myself asking, ‘When will I feel normal?’ but in reality I recognise that the normal from before has expired; ‘normal’ is an impossibility, there is only ‘new,'” she added, before saying her coping mechanisms have included “surviving, creating and laughing at TikTok videos.”
“So long 2021,” Tendler concluded. “For better or worse I will carry a piece of you with me forever.”
