‘They didn’t care’: Denise Richards’ children had ‘no interest’ in her career until they watched her on Friends

Denise Richards has revealed that her daughters had “no interest” in her career until they learned that she had starred in the popular series Friends.

The star took on several roles throughout her career and is most recently known for her appearance on the popular reality series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

But it was her role as Monica and Ross Geller’s cousin, Cassie, on the hit tv show Friends that took the cake, according to her children.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Live with Kelly and Mark episode, the actor revealed that her three daughters were excited to learn that she had guest starred on the series.

Having also made a Friends guest appearance, co-host Mark Consuelos asked Richards if her daughters were impressed by her role on the show.

“Do your daughters think it was cool you were on an episode of Friends? Because I was on an episode and my kids think it was the [coolest],” Consuelos asked.

Richards responded that her experience was the same.

“Right and it’s so funny because my kids had no interest in knowing anything [about my career], they didn’t care,” she said.

“But I think they saw me on a TikTok with the hair thing and they were like, ‘You were on Friends!?’ I was like, ‘Yeah!'”

The 90s sitcom that aired its last episode 10 years ago is still popular today, with younger generations watching all 10 seasons on streaming services.

Fans are also known to share moments from the show on TikTok and Instagram increasing its prevalence in pop-culture.

While her role in Friends was most notable to her children, cohost Kelly Ripa revealed her favourite of Richards’ roles was different.

“I think about all the great television that you have starred in over the years. 90210 and Melrose Place and Friends and it goes on and on,” she started.

“But my favourite role was you in Drop Dead Gorgeous,” Ripa said as the audience applauded.

“That film, I fell in love with you in that film. I just thought you were a stone-cold genius.”

“It was such a fun experience,” Richards said of her time on the film, thanking Ripa for the compliment.
