Madonna reveals the first thing she said after waking up from a coma during her health scare: ‘It’s hard on me emotionally’

Madonna has opened up about her health scare last year, which saw her wake up from a four-day induced coma after being hospitalised for a ”serious bacterial infection”.

People reports the music icon, 65, was performing in Los Angeles in recent days when she revealed the very first word she said after waking up from the coma was “no”.

“I’m pretty sure that was God saying to me, ‘Do you want to come? Want to come up with me? No,'” she said, reportedly drawing laughter from the crowd.

Talking about the tour, she said: “It’s hard on me emotionally because I’m really telling you the story of my life.”

But she added: “I’ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones… but nothing can stop me.”

The Like a Prayer singer said she learned to “let go” of “control” during her health ordeal.

Late last year, Madonna admitted it’s a it’s a ‘f–king miracle’ she’s alive, after being hospitalised with a “serious bacterial infection”.

She was performing on stage at the Barclays Center and according to Page Six, she said: “The fact that I’m here right now is the f–king miracle.”

“There are some people in this room tonight that were with me in the hospital.”

The Vogue singer said a woman named Siobhan “saved [her] life.”

“There is one very important woman who dragged me to the hospital… I passed out on my bathroom floor and I woke up in the ICU,” she said.

In June, Madonna’s manager revealed he had been hospitalised with a “serious bacterial infection”, forcing the megastar to postpone her world tour.

A statement shared by her talent manager Guy Oseary to his Instagram page said: “On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.

“Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected,” it read in part.
