Young millionaire in £130k Mercedes slammed for using bus lanes as ‘VIP road’ claiming he ‘doesn’t care about fines’

A “SELF-made” millionaire has been slammed for using bus routes as “VIP lanes” to avoid traffic.

Luke Desmaris, 28, claims to have made a fortune trading in cryptocurrency but sparked outrage online by boasting that “rich people” could dodge jams by breaking road laws.

In a video uploaded to his social media profiles, Luke was filmed veering into a bus lane in his £130,000 Mercedes G Wagon.

As he did so, he said: “To poor people, this is a bus lane.

“To rich people, it’s a VIP lane to avoid traffic.

“We don’t care about the fines.

“Broke people see a bus lane, I see a G Wagon lane.”

The self-professed “seven-figure trader”, from Chelmsford, Essex, used the lane to bypass a long line of other motorists waiting on a main road.

Using a bus lane within its allotted operating hours is an offence and carries a fine of up to £160.

However, if paid within 14 days, this can reduced as low as £60, which Luke implied is a cost he’s willing to bear in order to beat the rush hour traffic.

Commenters were quick to slam his conduct as unacceptable.

One warned: “Police and ambulance use these lanes for responding to emergencies.”

Another wrote: “Bit sad though.

“Obviously think you’re above everyone else.”

And a third added: “You will care when you lose your licence.”

This isn’t the first time Luke has found himself at the centre of a similar storm.

Back in 2022, he boasted that he proudly stops on double yellow lines, using them as his own personal “VIP parking spot”.

He claimed that he had paid over 100 penalties, totalling over £7,000, in the previous year alone.

The Sun has contacted Luke for a comment.
