Fiorentina ‘fear Sofyan Amrabat’s transfer value is PLUMMETING at Man Utd’ after latest horror show in derby

FIORENTINA are readying themselves for Sofyan Amrabat’s summer return, according to reports.

The midfielder, 27, joined Manchester United on a season-long loan deal last summer.

Amrabat had been expected to ease the Red Devils’ midfield woes, having worked under Erik ten Hag before.

The Moroccan played under the Dutchman at Utrecht between 2015 and 2017.

But United fans have not seen the best of him this term, with Ten Hag even deploying him as a makeshift left-back at times.

Amrabat replaced Kobbie Mainoo for the final eight minutes of Man Utd’s 3-1 defeat at Manchester City yesterday.

During his short cameo he endured a moment to forget, having his pocket picked by Rodri who then teed up Erling Haaland to score.

United forked out an initial £8million to loan Amrabat for the season.

The deal contains an option to buy for £17m plus a further £4.2m in add-ons.

SunSport revealed in December that United were not planning to make the deal permanent, following Mainoo’s emergence.

And according to Football Italia, Amrabat’s latest gaffe could make the Red Devils even less likely to trigger the option to buy.

The Fiorentina loanee has started just seven of Man Utd’s 27 Premier League matches so far this term, coming off the bench in a further six.

Should United not make the deal permanent he will still have a year remaining on his Fiorentina contract.

The Serie A side will then have a decision to make regarding whether to sell him elsewhere at a reduced value, or to reintegrate him and potentially try to extend his deal.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus were interested in signing Amrabat in January.
