But he recently admitted that it was Alvaro Morata who caused him the most problems.
The duo have gone head-to-head on three occasions, with the Spanish striker registering a goal and two assists in games against Kimmich.
Their first encounters came in two Champions League last-16 legs in 2016 while Morata was at Juventus.
He set up goals for team-mates Stefano Sturaro and Juan Cuadrado during the tie.
Kimmich is predominately a right-back or holding midfielder but had difficulties as a makeshift centre-half in both fixtures.
They then met again most recently in the 2022 World Cup group stage as Germany drew 1-1 with Spain as Morata hit the back of the net.
Kimmich previously explained why he found playing against the Atletico Madrid star so tough, saying: “He has a very strong body, he is very fast and has good technique.”
Morata never made the grade at Chelsea after signing for £60million in 2017.
