Inside Corrie star Jimmi Harkishin’s car collection including ultra-rare luxury Toyota & gorgeous Porsche supercar

JIMMI Harkishin is beloved by fans for his role as shopkeeper and serial bachelor Dev Alahan on Coronation Street.

Many might not know, however, that he has a deep-rooted passion for cars as well as his successful acting career, with a stunning collection that includes an ultra-rare luxury Toyota.

While his character, whom he has played since 1999, was involved in a heartbreaking crash scene while driving a Kia Sportage, Jimmi’s personal wheels tend to be more on the premium end of the scale.

Jaguar X-Type

The ITV star was spotted out and about at a supermarket in Manchester driving an X-Type Jag back in 2006.

He parked up the black and chrome-styled saloon as he enjoyed a shopping trip with his young daughter.

The car was only produced between 2001 and 2009, with just over 355,000 ever made.

It was also the brand’s best-selling model throughout its run, with sales peaking at 50,000 worldwide in 2003.

And it was certainly no slouch on the road, with a maximum 231 horsepower, a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of up to 146mph.

One of the most iconic sports car models in history, the Porsche 911 is a firm favourite with petrolheads – and it seems Jimmi is no different.

In a 2019 interview with Warrantywise, he said: The Porsche 911 has always been the car of my dreams and recently, I was in the very fortunate position to be able to buy one!

“[I’m] looking forward to a summer of hassle-free motoring.”

And the 911 is even more of a beast than his X-Type, with a whopping top speed of 193 mph and a 0-60 time of just 3.9 seconds.

Toyota Crown

In 2023, Jimmi was snapped with an ultra-rare luxury motor in the form of the Toyota Crown.

The model, which has been produced since 1955, is usually only available in Japan and China and only went on sale in the US last year for the first time since 1973.

So swish is the Crown that a number of them were used a government vehicles in Indonesia in 2019.

It looks, though, like Jimmi has a vintage version of the car, which he took for a spin around Manchester.

Price estimates are rare since they haven’t been available in the UK since the 1980s, but some US second-hand sites are selling them for as much as £42,000 ($54,000).

It comes after we gave readers a look inside the whacky car collection of Wheeler Dealers star Edd China – including a suite of bizarre driveable furniture.
