The Dutchman riffled a header past Dorde Petrovic with just minutes to go in extra time.

And no man seemed more thrilled than Tsimikas as he grabbed hold of Van Dijk’s legs and began to shake them.

The Greek full-back then went between Van Dijk’s legs to celebrate with the centre-back – leaving fans in stitches.

One said: “What was Tsimikas trying to do?”

Another added: “What are they doing?”

One joked: “Tsimikas got a bit too excited.”

Tsimikas’ assist and Van Dijk’s winner guaranteed that manager Jurgen Klopp got his hands on silverware before leaving at the end of the season.

The German has lead Liverpool to both the Premier League and Champions League trophy during his nine years in England.

But after Van Dijk’s last-gasp goal, he insisted none were more special than this one.

Klopp said: “I loved it … What I see today is so exceptional, we might never see it again.

“Not because I am on the sidelines but because these things don’t happen in football.

“It is in my more than 20 years, easily the most special trophy I ever won. It is absolutely exceptional.”
