There’s been rumours ’round town that a certain NFL player might be heading Down Under this week to support his superstar girlfriend on tour.
Yes, you heard that right, there have been whispers among the Swifties that none other than Travis Kelce could be headed to Australia ahead of Taylor Swift’s Sydney shows, and this morning Kelce’s dad hinted that there may be a bit of truth behind it.
Appearing on the Today Show, Ed Kelce was asked about his son’s travel plans for this week and if they include a little island down south known as Australia.

“I don’t know, I’d heard a rumour to that, and I’ve gotta call into him, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does,” he responded with a knowing smirk on his face.
Basically, it seems like Ed knows something and he’s just not willing to share.
It also wouldn’t unprecedented for Travis to hope on a jet to support Swift.
In November he hoped flew down to Argentina to catch a show during Swift’s South American leg of the Eras Tour.
The Kansas City Chiefs player also hinted that he has plans to travel on the podcast he hosts with his older brother Jason, New Heights.
Travis said that he had plans to travel to an island soon, adding that “I think the best ones are south right now.”

Regardless of whether Travis makes it to Australia or not, it seems that Ed is in full support of his sons new relationship, having nothing but the highest of praise for Swift when asked about her on the Today show.
“I think she’s very down to earth, a very grounded person,” he said. “When you consider all the attention and adulation that follows her, it’s kind of remarkable that she is just like the girl next door. That’s the only way I can put it really.”

He retold the famous story of their first meeting when he noticed Swift walking around the suite at one of Travis game picking up cups and plate to clean up after other people.
“I don’t know who else noticed it but I did. And I’ve met her folks so I know why she does stuff like that, that’s just the way she was raised,” he said.
“She is the least bit obsessed with her fame, she accepts it and she loves what she does, very hard worker, very shrewd businesswoman, she puts everything into these shows.”
