AFL star’s message after photo snapped in Taylor Swift crowd: ‘If you know them please let me know’

AFL star Mason Cox has been left feeling a little like the anti-hero after he obstructed Taylor Swift’s concert for fans behind him.

The Collingwood premiership player was among the many celebrities who attended the pop star’s record-breaking shows at Melbourne Cricket Ground last week, sharing pics from the night in his group’s matching Junior Jewels shirts from Swift’s You Belong With Me music video.

After sharing snaps from the show to Instagram, Cox who is 2.11m tall, was feeling guilty that he had blocked the view for those in the floor section behind him.

“HELP NEEDED!!!!I want to find the people that sat directly behind me to give them tickets to an AFL game,” he wrote in the comments section.

“If you know them please let me know,” he wrote to his 124,000 followers.

On the last slide of his post, Cox shared a picture of the floor section at the show where he clearly stood out amongst the sea of much shorter fans.

“Can you find me in the last photo? 😂😂😂😂” he hilariously wrote, tagging himself in the snap anyway.

Cox’s plea to find the fans came after he was inundated with comments pointing out his height would have been annoying for those trying to catch a glimpse of the star onstage.

“Would hate to be in the row behind you big fella,” one person wrote.

“I spotted you from the top. That’s how easy it is to find you.”

After promising to gift AFL tickets to the unlucky people directly behind him, Cox was met with praise from fans for the “kind” gesture.

The U.S Embassy Australia Instagram account even saw the American-Australian player’s message, leaving a simple “love this” in the comment reply thread.

Cox wasn’t the only athlete to make a surprise stop in at the MCG to see the Cruel Summer singer across her three sold out Melbourne shows.

The player’s Collingwood Football Club teammate, Josh Daicos, was also in the crowd with his model girlfriend Annalise Dalins.

Dalins shared a sweet post of her and her longtime boyfriend in the stands to Instagram with the caption “Tay Tay killed it ✨🙌🏼.”

The former Miss Universe Australia finalist also shared a video of the pair singing along to Swift’s Reputation hit track, Don’t Blame Me, belting out the lyrics ‘Lord, save me, my drug is my baby I’ll be using for the rest of my life.’

Geelong star Tom Hawkins and his wife Emma also made an appearance at the Eras Tour in Melbourne with the athlete’s wife joking the concert was “better than our wedding.”
