According to Corriere dello Sport, Bayern Munich have made Zidane their number one choice to replace Thomas Tuchel.

Pressure continues to mount on Tuchel with Bayern trailing EIGHT points behind league leaders Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

The Bavarians also took a hit to their Champions League dreams with a 1-0 loss to Lazio last week.

And the players seem to be losing faith in the manager with Leon Goretzka claiming their form is like something out of a horror movie.

Speaking after a 3-2 defeat to mid-table Bochum on Sunday, the 29-year-old said: “It feels like a never-ending horror film”.

He added: “It’s individual mistakes we make – and too many of them.”

Before giving a brutally honest answer about his side’s title credentials when asked if they can still win the league.

He said: “Not right now. I’m being honest about that.”

And those in charge seem to think that Zidane could be the answer to their problems with the report suggesting they have already contacted the Frenchman.

The three-time Champions League winning manager has also been linked with moves to Juventus, the French national team and a return to Real Madrid.

Bayern Munich are reportedly exploring other options too with The Athletic claiming they’re weighing up an approach to steal Xabi Alonso from title rivals Leverkusen.

But the Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to manage Liverpool at the end of the season with Jurgen Klopp announcing this will be his last campaign as Reds boss.

While former Germany boss Hansi Flick also linked with a return to the job he left back in 2021.
