The versatile travel pillow that plane passengers claim is better than all the others

GETTING to sleep on a plane is never easy – but there are items that can drastically improve your in-flight comfort.

One of those is the humble travel pillow, with plenty of different shapes and sizes, each claiming to be the best.

However, a new addition to the travel pillow market could have surpassed all the options that have come before it, with some describing it as better than any of the other pillows around.

The Infinity Pillow by Infinity Travel doesn’t look much like any of the other travel head or neck supports, but plenty of customers are raving about how much comfort it provides.

The infinity pillow is a large continuous loop that can be doubled over around the neck to create a large, squashy cocoon, or it can be looped just once around the neck, as well as other parts of the body to share the comfort elsewhere.

The 360-degree support will keep your head upright if you’re a passenger who tends to find themself slowly falling forwards or to the side as you nod off.

While its versatility means it can help cater for any passenger’s comfort needs as they try to drift off in the narrow confines of a plane cabin.

The Infinity Travel website claims you can “feel at home anywhere” with the pillow.

It continues: “Twist, wrap and bundle its versatile shape to fit the needs of the space you’re in, whether it’s the window, aisle or middle seat, on the road, or at home with the whole couch to lounge on.

“Neck support, lumbar pillow, window pillow, desk pillow, eye mask, noise cancelling pillow – you’ve got them all in this unique design.”

Hundreds of people have given it a five star review both on the Infinity Travel website and on Amazon, with plenty saying it’s the best travel pillow they’ve ever tried.

One wrote: “I am obsessed with travel pillows and this one is my favourite!

“Great quality, stuffs easily into a carry-on, supportive and comfortable for plane and other places.”

Another said: “We got a few different types of travel pillows for a red-eye to Europe and this was overall our favourite due to its versatility.

“The loop actually allows you to have various self supporting positions, and this will contort all sorts of ways to be a pillow, neck rest, arm rest… anything.”

A third added: “I absolutely adore this! It is so snuggly and supportive too! well worth the price- well made- cooling fine fabric and washes perfectly.”

The Infinity Pillow is available for around £40 from both the Infinity Travel website and from Amazon and comes in ten different colours.

The pillow can be packed away, either into a carry case or stuffed into hand luggage meaning it doesn’t take up too much room.

A good travel pillow isn’t the only item passengers should take on board planes to make their lives easier.

Plastic bag

It may seem simple, but some people never board a plane without a plastic bag in their hand luggage.

One of those people is flight attendant Valerie Fraser, who said that the bag’s versatility made it an essential travel item.

She told Insider: “A plastic bag is the most versatile item you can travel with.

“Leaky cosmetics? Solved. A bathing suit that’s still wet from a dip in the ocean? No problem. Filthy shoes from a hike? A plastic bag allows you to isolate them from your other items.”

Painter’s tape

Parents have to be pretty creative when it comes to entertaining their kids on long flights.

One who is no different is Nichola Knox, who shares plenty of the inventive methods she uses to look after her kids, Harrison and Margot, via her Instagram page (@nicholaknox).

In one of her videos, she revealed why a simple roll of painter’s tape is the item she never leaves behind when travelling with her youngsters.

She uses it to create cup holders, play games, taping over locks and drawers to keep the kids safe, as well as several other reasons.

Meanwhile, Sun Travel tried another viral travel pillow with mixed results.

And this £17 item will help you sleep on planes and in hotel rooms.
