A WOMAN has revealed how she spent just £20 travelling to Tenerife for the day – and even had time for an afternoon at the beach.
Danielle Mclean, 35, from Edinburgh, took herself to Spain for the day after spotting affordable return flights online.

She shared details of her cheeky trip on her YouTube channel.
Danielle booked a return flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife.
Her outbound flight with Ryanair cost just £20, while her return flight, with easyJet, cost £55.
She told Edinburgh Live: “This was the first time I’ve been on holiday and back on the same day but I just search different flights from Edinburgh on Google and if they’re cheap I just go for it.
“This time it was only £75 there and back so I thought I could fly out for the day, walk along the beach and visit the hotel I’ve stayed at before as I know two of the staff members.
“I went at the end of January and at one point I saw the temperature was 22C which is obviously a lot warmer than it is here.”
In the YouTube footage, Danielle can be seen arriving at Edinburgh Airport for her early morning flight to Tenerife.
After touching down in Tenerife, Danielle walked from the airport to Los Abrigos, a small fishing village on the island, before walking down to the beach.
At the beach, Danielle can be seen paddling in the water before walking along the waterfront to the Golf del Sur.
Danielle then visited the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife hotel, which is home to its very own fairytale-inspired castle.
With only seven hours in Tenerife, Danielle went to the marina before heading back to the airport.
Danielle, who is a retail employee, told Sun Online Travel: “It was still fun – my flight out to Tenerife was only £20 with Ryanair and I had the whole row to myself!”
Over the last few years, Danielle has travelled throughout Europe, so it’s safe to say she has learned a thing or two about exploring top holiday hotspots.
She added: “So yeah, I prefer places where you can walk from the airport. Geneva is the easiest airport to walk to, you can walk from Geneva Airport to the City, in 40 minutes.”
While some Brit holidaymakers may find a day trip daunting, this wasn’t the case for Danielle who explained that she “finds flights” easy.
Danielle said: ” I find flights easy, but buses and trains stress me out.”
On her holidays to New York and LA, Danielle made sure to walk everywhere and said she was frequently stopped for directions by other holidaymakers.
The retail employee does find other aspects of trips to Europe somewhat taxing, she added: “I wouldn’t say I find day trips tiring – it’s more the language barrier that stresses me out.”
This isn’t the first time Danielle has been to Tenerife.
Earlier this year, she revealed that she’d visited a hotel in Tenerife four times in one year.
Set in Golf Del Sur Tenerife, the Bahia Principe Fantasia Tenerife hotel is a stone’s throw away from Tenerife Airport and just a short walk away from a nearby beach.
In addition to its ideal location, the hotel is also home to its very own fairytale-inspired castle, which has been likened to the Disney castle.
While it may seem like an odd thing to do, this isn’t the first time someone has flown from the UK to Europe for a day trip either.
Last year, a British woman revealed how she spent just £23 flying to Lanzarote for the day – and even fit in some cocktails on the beach.
The mum travelled to Lanzarote thanks to the cheap Ryanair flights, spending nine hours exploring the Spanish island.
She also went on another short trip, flying to Ibiza for the day with six other mums for just £34.
