Roy Hodgson set to be sacked before end of season over horror run with Championship boss and Bundesliga gaffer in frame

ROY HODGSON is set to be sacked by Crystal Palace following a horror run of games.

Palace’s awful form has seen them plunge into a relegation scrap – and they currently sit in 15th place just five points above the drop.

Their most recent 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea was the club’s 12th of the season and a number of protests by Eagles fans have taken place in recent weeks.

According to the Daily Mail, Palace have decided to act by sacking Hodgson for a second time.

It remains to be seen if he will leave before Monday’s game against Everton.

But the call is believed to have been made to make the change before the end of the season.

Chairman Steve Parish is said to have wanted to stick with Hodgson until the summer.

But the veteran manager’s position at Selhurst Park has been in doubt amid the club’s poor form.

Talks are now underway over who will replace Hodgson, with former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner in the running.

Glasner spoke with Palace last summer but was Hodgson eventually given a new 12 month contract.

The Austrian has been out of work since leaving Frankfurt at the end of last season.

SunSport understands that Palace are also lining up Kieran McKenna, whose Ipswich side sit fourth in the Championship.

Steve Cooper and Julen Lopetegui also join McKenna on Palace’s shortlist.

But the trio are believed to be reluctant to take the role at the moment as the Eagles look to have a relegation battle on their hands.

Parish has, though, spoken to fellow owners to discuss Hodgson’s future and potential replacements.
