Wonderkid sold by Premier League side scores ‘rudest goal ever seen’… but England youth star won’t be credited with it

FORMER Aston Villa youth star Jaden Philogene looked to have scored the “goal of the season” – but will not be credited with it.

The playmaker was sold by Villa to Hull City last summer and Philogene is enjoying a breakthrough season with seven goals in 17 games.

But no goal was classier than the one he looked to have scored in Hull’s 2-1 win at Rotherham.

Philogene picked up the ball in the box before twisting and turning, sitting Oliver Rathbone down on his backside.

He then flicked the ball towards goal and his effort sensationally lobbed keeper Viktor Johansson.

Fans went wild as one said: “Goal of the season and nothing will ever come close.”

Another added: “Stop that Jaden Philogene-Bidace.”

One hailed: “That’s one of the best goals I’ve ever seen.”

Another gushed: “Give Puskas to him already.”

Despite the wondergoal, Philogene’s attempted cross actually took a deflection off Cameron Humphreys and was credited as an own goal.

Hull later sealed all three points with sub Noah Ohio’s 75th-minute winner.

Despite Philogene being brutally denied the goal, his manager Liam Rosenior had nothing but praise for the player’s quality.

Rosenior said: “His ability is something we’ve missed for a long time and he will only get better with the games he plays.

“It’s not the goals and showreel moments but the energy levels he gives the team.

“He has a belief he can be a top player. His goal changed the momentum.

“I thought our performance was top. The players fought, it’s such a difficult place to come and full respect to their performance.”
