Rahimzoda befriended mum Olga Yaroslavtseva, 39, after she and her young daughter relocated to Novosibirsk, Siberia, from Kazakstan.

She told the former sportsman of her plans to buy a new motor for RUB 1.5 million (£13,000) from the money she received after flogging her late grandmother’s home.

Rahimzoda was working as a taxi driver in the area after a losing streak in local MMA competitions.

He kept in touch with Olga until she bought a new car – and when her friends had not heard from her since January 20 they contacted the police.

When they called her phone, Rahimzoda answered and said: “The girls are sleeping, I won’t wake them up.”

A couple of hours later, the victim’s phone was unreachable, according to local media.

Olga’s body was later found on a motorway, while her daughter’s was uncovered underneath snow.

Cops believe Rahimzoda strangled the girl to death and fatally stabbed her mum.

Local law enforcement said: “The child was found on the outskirts of the city, between the Khiloksky market and the village of Tolmachevo.

“The girl’s body was in the snow, they searched for it purposefully there, but because of the snow and the same type of terrain, it took a lot of time.”

Rahimzoda, a Russian citizen originally from Tajikistan, was arrested at the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on January 27.

He was questioned and taken into custody.

Rahimzoda achieved just four wins while losing all of his other six fights during his short-lived MMA career.

The 5’8″ featherweight fighter, who has 23,600 followers on Instagram, is currently ranked just 593rd in Russia’s MMA Featherweight Fighter tables.

The investigation is ongoing.
