Man Utd fans ask Marcus Rashford ‘are you being serious?’ as they spot old tweets of supporter he gifted tickets to

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have been questioning Marcus Rashford’s decision to give free tickets to a supporter who has previously slammed the star.

The 26-year-old forward took to social media this week to post a photo of a jigsaw that he was doing.

Rashford then asked his followers to name what it was and promised to reward the person who guessed it correctly with two tickets to United’s upcoming Premier League clash with Fulham on February 24.

The lucky winner was an influencer named UTDTrey, who runs a United account, on X with over a million followers.

The fan responded to being picked as the winner by messaging Rashford and telling him that he was the “best player in the world”.

However, other eagle-eyed supporters on the platform were quick to point out the criticism that UTDTrey had previously dished out to the England international.

Just last month begged a Saudi Pro League club to sign the United academy graduate.

In another message, they wrote: “We used to have players like Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Beckham, Vidic, Keane, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie.

“Now Rashford is acting big coz he knows he’s our franchise player, we fell off bad man.”

And other messages said that the player was the problem rather than boss Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford and that “no manager is keeping Rashford”.

Other United supporters instantly saw the funny side as they hit back at UTDTrey.

One wrote: “After all the s*** you’ve said about him as well. You better not slander him ever again in your life.”

While another asked: “What is happening here?”

And a third added: “Trey, out of all the people.”

Rashford was fined £650,000 by United after a drinking bender in Belfast the day before allegedly rang in sick for training last month.

After acknowledging his mistake, he then celebrated his return to the team with a goal in United’s 4-3 win at Wolves.

That took his tally to five for the campaign following his stunning 30 goal haul last season.
