And Hojlund proceeded to lift his leg in the air while pretending to strum a guitar.

The celebration certainly left Man United fans and teammates stunned.

But the Dane has now lifted the lid on the inspiration behind it.

Hojlund revealed he had promised a friend he would do the celebration if he scored.

Having made the promise last summer, he felt the time was right to finally give it a go.

And Hojlund admits he may even start learning the guitar now, having been given one at Christmas.

The ace declared: “When I was with my friends in the summer, they told me I should do it and I hadn’t done it.

“He reminded me, we had this short spell when I was in Denmark, and he reminded me I should do it.

“It stuck with me and I just thought I would give it a chance.

“I’m not even lying, I got a guitar as a Christmas gift but haven’t used it yet.

“Let’s see, maybe [I’ll start playing the guitar!].”

Hojlund now has 10 goals in all competitions following his £64million move from Atalanta.

And he hopes to keep the momentum flowing ahead of a tough clash with Aston Villa.

Hojlund added: “I am not done, I am hungry for more and want to keep scoring, developing and scoring goals and getting higher up and getting the wins.

“Keep linking up with my teammates. I am enjoying it at the moment.”
