McCann, 33, dominated the fight and won through a round 1 submission with just one second left on the clock.

She pulled off an incredible armbar move in which she grabbed Belbita’s arm and pinned her with the use of her legs.

The Romanian tapped out as she started screaming in pain.

The referee rushed in to get McCann off and straighten the fighter’s arm.

McCann’s emotions came flooding out as she fell to the floor after her brilliant victory.

Belbita, however, was still in a lot of discomfort as she continued to lie down.

On commentary, they were convinced that her “arm popped for sure”.

Many had initially thought that she had broken her arm during the fight.

However, Belbita confirmed that she avoided a broken arm following the results of a CT scan last night.

She wrote: “No broken bone. I have to do an MRI as soon as I get back into Canada.

“It feels like a torn ligament.”

It was the first submission victory of McCann’s MMA career,

She apologised for not moving to her natural weight class earlier as she spoke after the fight.

She said: “I’d really like to take this time to apologise to the UFC, to my fans and to myself for not being at the right weight for all my other fights and for my last two performances.

“But today, I forgive myself so we can move forward.”

She is now aiming to win UFC gold.

She added: “‘Say less do more, say less do more.

“The plan was to be a world champion, that didn’t work out at 125lbs. You know when the plan doesn’t work, you don’t change the goal. You change the plan.

“Adversity, I’ve pushed through.

“My coach Paul [Rimmer] promised me this would happen and I’ve listened.”
