John McGinn opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Ollie Watkins made it 2-0 four minutes later.

Leon Bailey and Youri Tielemans both netted screamers to put Villa in total control before the half-hour mark.

Blades fans appeared to have had enough after the fourth as some were spotted leaving the ground.

Supporters were fuming with the performance on social media as well.

One posted: “Every Sheffield United fan should go home now.”

A second commented: “What’s worrying is there’s a second half of this to come.”

A third wrote: “Stay in the changing room lads.”

A fourth said: “Sheffield United fans leaving to go to the pub 30mins in.”

Another added: “Nice little training session for Aston Villa.”

The Blades went into the game bottom of the Premier League table with just ten points from 23 matches.

To make matters worse fellow strugglers Burnley, Luton Town and Everton all picked up points in their games.

For Villa it looked like they had recovered from their 3-1 defeat to Newcastle last time out.
