Kyle Sandilands reveals scary fall that left him injured: ‘It rattled me’

Kyle Sandilands is going to be walking down the stairs with caution from now on.

The radio star revealed this morning he was ‘rattled’ after recently taking a nasty tumble down the stairs at his home.

On the Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning, Sandilands admitted they had to run a pre-recorded show on Wednesday after he injured himself falling from the top of a staircase.

According to the host, he “rolled and rattled and bumped all the way to the bottom and was left splayed out like a Christmas dinner and no one was home.”

“So, I was like ‘help’!” Sandilands told his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, explaining his wife Tegan and his son Otto were away for the night.

“Tegan was away so the normal routine wasn’t happening,” he said, explaining the nanny was away and the lights weren’t on at the bottom of the wide, marble staircase.

“So I’ve come out and I’ve thought, ‘Oh s–t, it’s pitch black’,” Sandilands said, claiming that he was “tapping away like a blind man with a cane.”

The radio host said he then fell and dropped everything he kept in his hat, which included his wallet, keys and cigarettes.

“So that all went everywhere and I was left at the bottom of the floor and I was so injured,” Sandilands told Henderson.

“I thought that’s it for me. This is the beginning of the end,” he said before assuring that while it “rattled me a bit” he’s now “fine.”

His co-host Henderson brought up how falls tend to be the beginning of the end later on in life before assuring Sandilands “I don’t think you’re there yet.”

This isn’t the first time the radio duo have been candid about health scares on air.

Just a couple of months ago in November 2023, Henderson was rushed to hospital halfway through the Kyle and Jackie O Show after having chest pains while live on air.

“I’ve sent Jackie home as she’s very unwell,” Sandilands told John Laws.

“She’s not herself, she only had one hour’s sleep and she had an operation yesterday and has all these pains down her arm and chest pains.”

Henderson’s management told 9Honey Celebrity in a statement that the radio star was “treated for an infection and was released from hospital” that afternoon.
