Slezak, born in Hollywood, comes from an acting family.
Her late father was Austrian actor Walter Slezak, who was the son of opera tenor Leo Slezak.
Speaking about her character Victoria on One Life to Live, Slezak told Digital Journal: “I loved who my character Victoria, was: nonjudgmental, honest and very trustworthy. She was also trusting, which wasn’t always to her benefit.”
She also gave her best acting advice, telling aspiring stars to be “trained,” saying: “Don’t think you can just go and do it. You need training in speech, diction and how to think through a character.”
It comes after soap star Kamar de los Reyes, known for One Life to Live, died at the age of 56 following a cancer battle.
A publicist for his wife confirmed to Deadline that the actor passed away in Los Angeles following a brief battle with cancer.
Across his 30-year career, he took on roles like Pedro “Roadman” Quinn in the off-Broadway production Blade to the Heat and Ferdinand in The Tempest. It was in 1995 when he joined One Life To Live as former gang-member turned attorney, Antonio Vega.
De los Reyes stayed in the role for 14 years with a brief hiatus in the late ’90s.
