NEWCASTLE have made an approach to sign Jacob Ramsey, according to reports.
The Aston Villa star has attracted interest from a number of sides in England and abroad.

Ramsey has been a key man for Aston Villa since returning from injury
But it is Newcastle who have taken the initiative by making an approach for the 22-year-old.
According to The Athletic, Villa need to raise funds before the end of June in order to stay compliant with Premier League profit and sustainability rules (P&S).
The report suggests the club will only contemplate offers of above £50million.
This being said, Ramsey has established himself as a key player under Unai Emery.
Ramsey missed much of the start of the season with a foot injury.
He had started each of the last four Premier League games before being sidelined against Everton through injury.
Despite Villa’s need to raise cash, the report indicates there are other alternative ways to make money.
Striker Jhon Duran is one such path, with Chelsea interested in a move for the 20-year-old.

Toon chiefs are looking at ways to bolster Eddie Howe‘s injury ravaged squad.
However, unless a significant sale is made by Newcastle this month, Ramsey will be beyond their reach.
Tottenham and Bayern Munich are other clubs who have made their admiration for the England Under-21 international known.
Newcastle are also feeling the squeeze of P&S after announcing losses of £73.4m in their 2022/23 accounts.
And Toon fans have been warned they may need to sell one of their star players in order to comply with financial rules.
Bruno Guimaraes is chief among these, having been heavily linked with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
