‘Elite level chocolate treat’ scream Cadbury fans as brand brings back creme egg after selling out last year

CADBURY fans are thrilled after learning that it has brought back a popular creme egg first introduced in November 2022.

Shoppers can buy white chocolate Cadbury creme eggs once again.

White chocolate creme eggs were first introduced in November 2022

It comes as one Cadbury fan took to Facebook and said: “New Cadbury white chocolate creme eggs spotted in Asda.”

Other fans of the sweet treat have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their joy at the news.

One person said: “The white chocolate creme egg is an elite level chocolate treat.”

Another said: “A white creme egg? What is this delicious sorcery.”

Others described the chocolate treat as “life changing” and one even says it’s a “game changer.”

Shoppers can now pick up the white creme eggs at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.

However, those wanting to nab the best deal should venture to their local Asda which is selling the 40g sweet treat individually for 60p.

The same creme egg costs 70p at Sainsbury’s and 75p at Morrisons.

But if you shop at Tesco you’ll need to buy a creme egg mixed box for £2.50 to get your hands on a single white creme egg.

The relaunch of sweet treat comes less than a year after The Sun reported on its popularity last year and revealed that it had sold out just days before Easter.

Mondelez, which owns Cadbury, confirmed that white chocolate creme eggs were unavailable on April 7 – two days before Easter 2023 on April 9.

A Mondelez International spokesperson said the white version was shaping up to be just as popular as the original and “sold out egg-ceedingly quickly.”

Cadbury unveiled the white chocolate Creme Egg in November 2022 and it marked the first major innovation to the chocolate treat in over 50 years.

The egg features the unique creme egg gooey centre, which is coated in a white chocolate shell.

At the time, Cadbury fans were thrilled with the news, calling the new creme egg a “game changer”, but it wasn’t to everyone’s taste.

Shoppers were left overjoyed last week when Cadbury also brought back its creme egg Pots of Joy.

The popular dessert has caused a stir on social media as fans have rushed to get their hands on the early Easter treat.

Supermarkets are in full Easter mode now Christmas is over and new chocolate treats are popping up everywhere.

Aldi customers have recently been going wild for the discounter’s new Easter chocolates that are a dupe of what’s already been available at M&S.

Tesco shoppers have also been enjoying a “luscious” twist on a traditional hot cross bun.

Meanwhile, Terry’s Chocolate Orange fans have been filling up their baskets after spotting an Easter Egg with a twist in Tesco.

Plus, people are often left surprised when they learn what the inside of a Creme Egg is made of and it’s not caramel or icing.
