A VAN-LIFER has shared the best thing he’s learned to make for his micro-camper after a year on the road.
Rob, who lives in a Fiat Doblo – which is a small panel van that can be converted into a camper – offers tips and tricks for other would-be van-lifers through his YouTube page RobnDob.

In a short video, he reveals that “the bane of his life” for the last 12 months has been working out a way to keep his windows covered when he’s parked up.
And after many months of trial and error, Rob managed to solve the issue with a handy hack that he says offers him privacy and even manages to keep him warm inside the van during the long winter months – all thanks to a clever use of insulation.
He said: “It’s been the number one thing that’s always got me and it’s taken me a year to get these done.
“They come off easily as well, but honestly they’re just brilliant.
“It’s just so much better to turn up to places and you can have privacy.
“Funnily enough, they actually do keep a bit of heat in because I’ve panelled it with the silver insulation all the way around.”
The homemade devices appear to slot neatly over each window panel in the van, and also slide off easily enough when Rob’s back on the road.
Indeed, Rob’s self-converted van is full of ingenious solutions, including a bed set-up with hidden storage underneath, a small handmade worktop for the kitchen which includes a mini sink, and even a small water pump.
Rob isn’t the only van-lifer living on the road, as mechanic Carl showed off his incredible home on wheels using a former delivery lorry.
Elsewhere, fans of the film ‘School of Rock’ will be amazed to find the van driven by Jack Black’s character in the iconic flick is up for sale.
