A SWIFT “pull and push” motion can make your car far roomier in seconds – and it’s in thousands of motors.
Doug DeMuro, a US-based YouTuber and motoring journalist, revealed that British motorists could be missing out on the handy space-saving trick.

The ID Buzz is an all-electric minivan released by the German motors giant in 2022.
It includes a centre console in the front that has been dubbed the Buzz Box.
Almost identical in appearance to a standard piece of cockpit furniture, it actually hides a remarkable secret.
Unlike a normal central console, the Buzz Box is not fixed into the car and is actually secured by retractable clips built into the floor.
By simply pushing the button on the top of the box and pulling, drivers can completely remove the box from the car.
If you don’t need the extra storage, then it’s a great way to open up more space between the driver and passenger seat.
Not only that, but it’s great for when you’re cleaning up as you don’t have to struggle around it to vacuum the carpet and can clean the box itself externally.
So far only around 3,000 units of the ID Buzz have sold in the UK but more neat gadgets like this one could see those numbers increase rapidly.
Named the WhatCar? Car of the Year for 2023, prices start at around £58,000.
However, VW sweetens that deal with an offer of a free Ohme wallbox home charger on new cash or finance purchases until January 29 2024.
It comes after a major firm halted development of its “flagship” EV amid concerns over performance.
