Defrost windscreen twice as fast with handy ‘flap’ above driver’s head – take it from me, I spend my life on the road

AS the temperature plummets and frost covers the ground knowing how to defrost your car has never been more important.

The Met Office have today issued an urgent ice warning and a health alert has been extended after snow shut schools in a -14C freeze.

Fortunately, a man who spends his life on the road has shared a way to defrost your windscreen twice as fast using a handy flap above the drivers head.

The man – who goes by @urbanvanlife on TikTok – took to the platform to share his wisdom.

He starts by saying: “Once you’ve got your heaters onto the window screen, pull your sun visors down on both sides of the window and that will deflect the heat back onto the window screen – defrosting them twice as quick.”

He adds: “Do that on both sides and your window will be defrosted quicker.”

This isn’t the only time a motorist has shared their defrosting tips recently.

Another driver urged motorist to spent just £5 and make their cars frost free for good.

Posting on TikTok under the username Kol, one motorist told fellow drivers that there was no need to waste their time with other pointless de-icing hacks.

The content creator revealed to viewers that one method is better than all the rest.

He told TikTokers that pouring hot water on your frozen motor would not work.

And he also said that de-icing sprays advertised to put on at night would be no use.

He wrote: “Don’t bother doing these.

“Or waste your time trying any of these, way too much effort.”

Instead, the TikToker recommended a thermal windshield cover to prevent you getting ice on your windshield.

And another driver shared their cheap 2p hack for de-icing a windscreen in just seconds.

The incredible time and money-saving motor trick is sure to help you set off in the morning without any hassle.
