A HORSE trainer who lost his daughter to cancer is aiming to raise £40,000 for charity in her honour with a racehorse.
Peter Pritchard’s daughter Katie was just 37 when she went to her local GP having spotted a lump in January 2022.

She was told it could have been a result of her Covid vaccine or, incredibly, an undiagnosed STI.
But having self-referred herself to a gynaecologist for a second opinion she was told it was cervical cancer.
While an intensive course of radiotherapy initially proved positive, she was told in December 2022 the cancer had returned and that she only had a few months to live.
Katie passed away just six months later.
In a drive to honour his daughter’s memory and raise funds for research, Peter has announced Old Gold Racing will donate a horse for syndication.
Katie Sunny Dancer will be trained by Alex Hales and shares start from just £60 – with owners getting a cut of the prize money.
Money raised will go to benefiting The Lady Garden Foundation and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
There will be 2,000 shares available in the filly, who will come under the ownership of the Grade 1-winning syndicate.
Peter said: “While nothing can replace the void Katie’s passing has left behind, we want to honour her life and her story by spreading awareness about this deadly disease, which so many disregard the early signs of.
“By combining Katie’s love of horses with our ambition to make a difference, we hope Katie Sunny Dancer will contribute to the advancement of research into cervical cancer, so others do not have to go through Katie’s ordeal.
“Hopefully it could save a life.”
