ITV to launch hidden new channel filled with Oscar-nominated movies and it won’t cost a penny – where to find it

ITV is set to launch a new streaming channel next month that will air the best Oscar-nominated films over the decades.

It’s officially awards season, and what that means for those of us outside the glitzy walls of Hollywood is that it’s time for a movie marathon.

From 26 February 2024, ITVX will host an sparkly new Oscars channel that will act as a highlight reel for some of the movie industry’s most acclaimed titles.

ITV has promised a dozen popular films so far, including Chicago, Flashdance, Ghost, Henry V, No Country For Old Men, Pulp Fiction, Monster’s Ball, Winter’s Bone, Adaptation, Bugsy Malone, Black Narcissus and Precious.

How do I watch the channel on ITVX?

ITX is ITV’s on-demand streaming service, and is available online, on a smartphone or tablet, and on Wi-Fi connected TVs.

The Oscar channel will be available on a number of platforms, including Sky Q, Sky Stream, Virgin Media V360 and Stream, as well as newer Freesat boxes and some Freeview Play devices.

Inside the ITVX app, viewers will be able to find the channel by selecting the Live icon and scrolling down to the channel.

How to watch on a mobile device

On iOS and Android devices, go to the ‘Live’ section of the app and swipe the screen to scroll through the channels.

How to watch on connected TV

The live TV feature is currently available on these devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Freesat, LG Smart TVs, Now/Roku streaming players, Samsung Smart TVs (2017 and above), Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream puck, Virgin Media (TV360 and Stream), Xbox One/S/X and Xbox Series X/S.

Some Freeview models also support live TV on ITVX.

You’ll know if live TV is available on yours if you can see a ‘Live’ icon in the menu on the left hand side of the screen.
