‘Do not eat’ warning issued over biscuits and crackers that may contain MOTH LARVAE

BISCUITS and crackers have been recalled after they were found to contain moth larvae.

The products, from Daylesford Organic, are “unfit for human consumption”, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) warns.

Larvae are small, creamy-coloured caterpillar-like pests that later develop into moths.

Eating them won’t necessarily make you sick, but officials don’t recommend it.

The “do not eat” warning applies to:

Daylesford Organic Rye, Spelt & Raisin Crispbreads – 120g (best before May 22, 2024, and June 5, 2024)

Daylesford Organic Savoury Biscuit Selection – 360g (best before May 22, 2024, June 5, 2024, and September 10, 2024)

Daylesford Organic Savoury Biscuit Selection – 960g (best before May 22, 2024, and June 5, 2024)

“These products have a presence of moth larvae, which makes them unsafe to eat,” the FSA said.

They are available on the Daylesford Organic website, from Milk & More and Ocado.

Farm shops in the Cotswolds, London‘s Notting Hill and other locations also stock the food firm’s range.

Anyone who has bought the crackers should not eat them and avoid opening the packaging, Daylesford said.

Instead, customers should return them to the shop they bought them from for a full refund – with or without a receipt.
