The 6p Sainsbury’s item which will de-ice your car door in seconds with no fuss & drivers ‘had no idea’

A SAVVY driver has revealed the 6p Sainsbury’s item which de-ices your car in seconds with no fuss.

Drivers said they had no idea the WD-40 could make their frosty mornings hassle-free when Christina, who goes by @homewithchristina on TikTok, revealed her winter hacks online.

Christina explained that by spraying WD-40 on the inside of your doors, you can prevent them from being freezing shut.

The product, which retails for £6 on Sainsbury’s, has up to 100 uses, meaning customers spend only 6p every time they de-frost their car.

WD-40 can also be used to prevent snow from sticking to your shovel, Christina said.

TikTok followers couldn’t stop thanking the clever driver for her tips, with one user writing: “I had no idea! Thanks!”

Another commented: “This is very informative for people who are new car owners, living alone, and who live in areas where it snows heavily, thank you very much.”

A third replied: “No one has showed me or told me about any of these hacks, thanks!”

Christina went on to list a few other hacks she can’t go without during winter.

She revealed that using hand sanitiser can unfreeze your car locks, and using a spatula can be a great replacement if you don’t have a scraper.

Keeping your wipers up before it snows will prevent them from sticking to your car, Christina added.

Rubbing shaving cream on the inside of your windows will also prevent fog.

And she recommended always keeping a bag of cat litter in your trunk in case your car gets stuck.

Christina’s tips come after a driver who said he discovered a special button has claimed it’s exclusive to drivers of just one car brand.

Motorist Joe, who goes by @mrjturner on TikTok, said Ford drivers “feel like they are winning” with the special feature which makes de-icing windscreens a dream.

Filming his dashboard, Joe said the bottom button on his Ford Fiesta offers a heated windscreen function.

He wrote: “Any other Ford owners feel like they are winning – that heated windscreen button though…”

But users were quick to reply that Ford drivers weren’t the only lucky ones.

“Ford allows loads of manufacturers to do this. Your car isn’t special,” one wrote.

A heated windscreen can make all the difference while driving in cold weather.

A heated windscreen reduces frost, ice, and moisture, giving you a clearer view of the road and making your drive safer and more comfortable.

While not all vehicles come equipped with this feature, many manufacturers have recognised its benefits and have incorporated it into their range, according to 1st Call Windscreens Ltd.

These include Land Rover, Skoda, MiniNissan, SEAT, Jaguar, and Volkswagen.
