‘It makes me feel like a winner’ drivers say as they find ‘exclusive’ button which makes de-icing windscreens a dream

A DRIVER who said he discovered a special button has claimed it’s exclusive to drivers of just one car brand.

Motorist Joe, who goes by @mrjturner on TikTok, said Ford drivers “feel like they are winning” with the special feature which makes de-icing windscreens a dream.

Filming his dashboard, Joe said the bottom button on his Ford Fiesta offers a heated windscreen function.

He wrote: “Any other Ford owners feel like they are winning – that heated windscreen button though…”

But users were quick to reply that Ford drivers weren’t the only lucky ones.

“Ford allows loads of manufacturers to do this. Your car isn’t special,” one wrote.

Another replied: “Vauxhall, Volvo, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda all do heated windscreens its nothing special.”

A third commented: “My Corsa defrosts the back and front window in about two minutes max.”

A heated windscreen can make all the difference while driving in cold weather.

A heated windscreen reduces frost, ice, and moisture, giving you a clearer view of the road and making your drive safer and more comfortable.

Heated windscreens function by embedding heating devices inside the glass.

These heating components are made up of thin conductive strips or wires that, when triggered, send an electric current through the windscreen, causing heat to be generated.

This successfully melts or prevents frost, ice, and moisture on the glass.

While not all vehicles come equipped with this feature, many manufacturers have recognised its benefits and have incorporated it into their range, according to 1st Call Windscreens Ltd.

These include Land Rover, Skoda, Mini, Nissan, SEAT, Jaguar, and Volkswagen.

It comes after a savvy woman revealed how an important eight to ten minute window is the key to quickly defrosting your car.

The woman, who goes by @almabenitezx on TikTok, shared a video demonstrating her helpful hack.

She starts by saying: “get ready to be in your car at least eight to ten minutes before you start driving.”

Next she turns the car heater on full, the fan on number three and presses the rear window defrost button.

Then, after waiting for roughly eight minutes, the frost is “like water” and she is able to “swipe it away.”
